Frequently Asked Questions

1

I'm not sure where to start?

Investing in design work can feel like quite a commitment for any business and it is easy to feel lost about where to begin. If you are unsure, I am always happy to discuss what you are after, things that you will need to consider, and how we can start to get everything moving. I also like to explain everything beyond the tech talk so you will always feel confident and informed during the process.

2

Where can I meet you for a client brief?

I am happy to come to your office (Within 50KMs), for you to come to mine, or for us to meet somewhere in-between (as a coffee lover, coffee shops are my preference).

3

What is the client's involvement in the design process?

4

Can you provide all of our web design and hosting services?

Absolutely. I am happy to set up a web hosting server to host your brand new website on. I set up my web design clients with Quadra Hosting who have competitive pricing, numerous options for server size and technology, and fantastic and fast customer support. I host my own website with them as a testament to their quality.

5

Will my website be search engine friendly?

Yes, along with the option to have your website mobile friendly (which greatly improves search engine rankings), I also work alongside another local web development team to give you the best SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) ranking for your target audience.

6

Can I see how many people are visiting my website?

Yes, if you are interesting in getting into the numbers of your website, I can set up Google Analytics, allowing you to not only see how many people visit your site, but where your visitors are from, how long they stay, and what pages they visit. This is only scratching the surface of what Google Analytics has to offer and I can take you through further options.

Google Analytics is a free service from Google and adds no extra charge to your website cost.

7

What if I don't like the design?

That’s no problem at all. I tackle this issue very early on in the design phase by supplying all clients with an early concept design that you can accept, make changes as you see fit, or outright reject if it’s not what you envisaged (at which point I will work with you to produce a new design). At this point, any major or minor changes will not count towards other free change rounds as specified in your quote / contract.

8

When you've finished a design for print media, what happens next?

Once we’ve settled on a final design that you are happy with I can organise for your media to be printed through my preferred printer for an additional charge. You will be provided with all files needed for printing if you would like to organise the printing yourself.

9

Do I need to be Brisbane-based in order to work with you?

I am happy to organise other contact arrangements for clients who live outside the Brisbane area (50KMS from the CBD). With technology such as Skype, it is easier than ever to connect and work together with people from around the world.

10

Can I get a complete design / branding package?

I am happy to organise other contact arrangements for clients who live outside the Brisbane area (50KMS from the CBD). With technology such as Skype, it is easier than ever to connect and work together with people from around the world.

11

Can I have my website optimised for mobile devices?

Yes - In fact I always recommend clients optimise their website for mobile devices as the benefits are well worth it. With mobile users on the dramatic rise and the implementation of Googles new search algorithms, having a mobile optimised site will not only let your customers access your business anywhere at any time, but also greatly improve your search ranking with Google.

12

This FAQ was quite helpful - do you have any other useful content?

I recently started up a Youtube channel where I discuss how client and designer relations can mesh more effectively and the types of questions you will be faced with and how to approach them.
